March 7th till April 18th 2008 'A FOOL IN THE EYES OF GOD'
Trinidad born, Newark native Kevin Darmanie's illustrative analysis of faith and policy in the contemporary world. A oneman show of mostly large ink drawings on paper with a few books and a video projection. The works are comprised of blown-up, oversized comic book pages, which follow the adventures of Kedar. A skinny, dreadlocked, cuturally aware protagonist (much like Darmanie himself) who wise-cracks and sermons his way through giants, harlots and monsters spewing his disertation on the ills of humanity. The artist believes that the ethics of the modern world, like art, are lost in a glut of misinformation. He believes that God has been replaced by ideas of indepence and co-dependence, and inturn have left society out of balance. on view at Lex Leonard Gallery 143 Christopher Columbus Drive, Suite 2 Jersey City, NJ 07302
